Historically it was founded by Peter the Great and was the capital of Imperial Russia until 1918. It is well known for having many exceptional Baroque and Neo Classical buildings and elements.

Very important landmarks of the city are the Hermitage, the Winter Palace with the Senate Square, Peter and Paul Fortress, Kotlin Island and basically everything that it is in the city center.

It is no wonder that this Russian capital has a diverse and cosmopolitan lifestyle. Mighty and proud, Moscow offers you all. It is evident that this metropolis witnessed almost every historical event of Russia since the 13th century.  Moscow offers you not only exceptional background and architecture, but also has a noteworthy nightlife with beautiful ladies and fine cuisine.

Obviously a place you should start a tour in Moscow is the Kremlin and the entire Red Square. The Kremlin was built between the 14th and 17th century and it was used both by rulers and religious leaders. The Kremlin is still used for political purposes and also serves as the official residence of the president of Russia.

St Basil’s Basilica is Moscow’s symbol and was built in the 16th century. It is the finest example of a Russian Orthodox monument although the cathedral is not used for religious purposes anymore. Despite being used as a museum, it still serves occasionally for periodic services by the Russian Orthodox Church.

Legend says that Ivan the Terrible was so impressed by the cathedral’s beauty that he pulled out the eyes of the architect who planned the church so that he would not build an equally gorgeous structure anywhere else.
