If you like going outdoors every once in a while, a day hike or walk in the wild is a good escape from a chaotic life in the big city. But if you live for the great outdoors and you can’t wait for an opportunity to get out of the house, then maybe a short hike sounds like small fry – a trek would definitely sound like something more challenging and fun.

GR20, Corsica, France
The island that bred such fiery characters like Napoleon is bound to have some impressively rough and wild landscape, and the GR20 route is a tour that showcases only the best of it. The trek lasts a grueling 15 days and almost 170 miles through mountain scenery, lake shores, valleys, craters, peat bogs and maquis. Talk about variety! The trek consists of two parts: Calenzana – Vizzavona and Vizzavona – Conca.

The Inca Trail is nothing short of scenic: 33 kilometers of pure eye-candy, leading from the Sacred Valley to the incredible Macchu Picchu on its perch above the Urubamba Valley.
The trek is walked by thousands of people every year so you might not get any privacy to meditate on the ingeniousness of the Inca, but the stunning views are worth it.
