  • 7 Most Luxurious Pools in the World

Summer calls for some nice places to chill out and what can cool you off and help you relax better than a luxury pool? In a world in which pools have become a commodity, architects are in a fierce competition to design the most unbelievable pools.

Rather then presenting you the world’s most luxurious hotels, today we will focus on some of world’s most famous pools (some of them so unique that they have become the major attraction from their hotels):

    Blue Lagoon Resort, Iceland

Having the chance to bathe in the middle of winter and still get the feeling that you have reached cloud nine is something that few places can offer. But Iceland’s hot pools and eternal snows make such fantasies become real. With its steamy waters and neighboring volcano peaks, the The Blue Lagoon Resort in Grindavík, Iceland is one of a kind.

    Perivolas Hotel, Santorini

Just imagine yourself emerging in a sea of the purest blue, while the only disturbing elements are the white-washed walls and the muffled sounds of a Mediterranean village. The infinity pool at Perivolas Hotel, Santorini is perfectly integrated into the island’s magnificent setting: the stone paved pool ends with a transparent glass panel, offering a wide panorama of the Greek archipelago.

    Four Seasons, Costa Rica

Usually considered as an outdoor and eco-travel paradise, the central American state of Costa Rica is less seen as a luxury travel destination. Combining the country’s lush vegetation with the wonders of modern technology, the Four Seasons Resort on the remote Papayaga island represents the concept of infinity pool at its best.

    Burj Al Arab, Dubai

Combining the latest design trends (how else could we imagine the modern Dubai?) with the ancient tradition of Arabian public baths, the pool at Burj Al Arab is among the most spectacular in the world.  The glass wall overlooking Dubai is accompanied by a discrete light and sumptuous columns covered in colorful mosaics.

    Crown Tower Hotels, Macao

If you are the kind of individual that is not afraid to look down from a skyscraper’s roof, then the pool at crown tower hotels in Macao was designed especially for you. This is the kind of pool that every luxury seeker should give a try: if not for the exquisite deign and perfect temperature, that at least for the sake of the bathing and admiring the harbor in the same time.

Blanket Bay Luxury Lodge, New Zealand

There is no doubt, Lake Wakatipu in new Zealand is the bungee-jumper’s nirvana. Considering that the  area is famous for its hiking trails, bungee jumping facilities and wonderful views, you wouldn’t expect  Blanket Bay Luxury Lodge to have one of the most luxurious pools in the world. Yet, there it is, the panorama of New Zealand’s most scenic mountains seen through the transparent cutout window of a heated pool.

San Alfonso del Mar Resort, Chile

The outside pool at San Alfonso del Mar is, officially, the biggest pool in the world. Designed so that it resembles a tropical lagoon, the pool stretches across 20 acres and features all kinds of adjacent facilities like a tropical fish tank, jacuzzi tubs and small waterfalls. Judging by its unbelievable size, we would be tempted to believe that the Chileans have built a resort around a big pool and not the other way round.
