As much as you hate it, you can’t avoid shopping, but if you love it, then you probably don’t mind going out of your wait to visit places that are known as veritable shopper’s magnets.
In some destinations around the world, it’s almost as if shopping had been elevated to the level of art – not only because of the incredible variety of things you can buy, but because the shopping areas themselves ended up looking like bona fide tourist destinations.
Whether you have big plans of spending money, or you can just settle for some window shopping, some of the glitziest shopping avenues in the world are certainly impressive enough to warrant a visit.
Ginza, Tokyo, Japan

The eight blocks that make up Ginza in Tokyo are considered to be one of the most exclusive shopping areas in the world, and many of the most famous department stores in Japan are located here (Wako, Mitsukoshi) are located here.
Ginza is spectacular, perhaps even more so if you don’t buy anything and focus on admiring the intricate display windows, huge stores and the latest Tokyoite street fashions.
Fifth Avenue, New York, US
Fifth Avenue is home to small but expensive boutiques of the likes of Versace and Gucci, as well as sprawling department stores (Saks, Macy’s, Bergdorf Goodman), and it is quite possibly one of the fanciest outdoor places on the planet. Walking around Fifth Avenue without a sizable bank account might be a bit frustrating, but if you don’t feel like trying on things you can’t afford, you can console yourself by looking at the elaborate displays.
Laugavegur, Reykjavik, Iceland

Reykjavik is a small city, but it does have a very interesting shopping area on Laugavegur street, where you can find an assortment of boutiques selling everything from clothes and accessories to souvenirs and books. Laugavegur is the oldest shopping street in Iceland, and it has a good dose of particular historical charm among all those high-end shops.
Avenue Montaigne, Paris, France
Paris doesn’t need any introduction for shoppers, and even those who don’t like shopping for shopping’s sake have probably noticed that the center of Paris is rife with all sorts of shops and boutiques.
Avenue Montaigne is near Champs Elys̩es and the Seine, and as the fanciest avenue in the entire French capital is it worth a look Рparticularly in the evening when it is spectacularly lit up.

Bond Street has been one of the poshest streets in London since the 19th century, and even today there are probably more exclusive shops concentrated in this area than anywhere else in London, including some shops that actually supply the royal family.
Needless to say, Bond Street is somewhat of a London institution, and worth checking out even if only for the looks of it.
