Top 5 beach break destinations this autumn
For those who are living in temperate regions, summer’s on its way out, so weather warm enough to go to beach is not that common anymore. But this is far from being the end of the beach season this year, at least in several great destinations where beach life is still going strong.
The best part about going to the beach in autumn is that many destinations are off-season, so your holiday will likely cost a fraction of its summer price. So if you want to catch some last rays and take a dip in salty water, then pack your bathing suit and check out the top 5 beach break destinations this autumn.
Ibiza
Although in September things are a bit quieter in Ibiza than at the beginning of autumn, the party island is still warm enough and boisterous enough to attract hordes of eager beach-goers. In high season it’s difficult to get into the nice restaurants and finding parking spaces, but September through October you can find empty beach lounges and take a proper look at the island without being distracted by the crowds.
Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt
Sharm el Sheikh is a hippie paradise, but there’s plenty to do for those who are not really into communal showers (although there are some very interesting eco-lodges in Sharm el Sheikh that are worth considering even if they don’t have running water and electricity).
Even in September and October, the weather is sunny and the water is not too cold for some spectacular snorkeling.
Borocay, Philippines
If you don’t want to be at the mercy of capricious autumn weather, then make your beach break a truly summery one by visiting a tropical island where there’s summer practically all year round. Borocay is one of the most famous Philippine beach destinations, with small but very beautiful beaches that cater to the party-loving crowd (White Beach) and the windsurf -addicts (Bulabog Beach).
Oman
Oman is a pretty underrated destination at the best of times, so if you visit it in autumn you can have the country’s unspoiled beaches mostly to yourself.
Oman has a stunning 1700 kilometer coastline, with nearly abandoned sandy beaches and some of the cleanest water you can find anywhere. Since the weather is often too hot to bear in summer, autumn is the perfect time of the year to visit this beach paradise.

This Mediterranean island’s geographical position grants it a long and sunny autumn with temperature that are just perfect for lounging on the beach. You can stay at a resort, but for more comfortable (and scenic) accommodation, choose a small village where you can rent cottages or stay at an inn – you’ll be able to explore the picturesque countryside and then take a refreshing dip in the water.
