Delphi Mountain Resort & Spa, Co. Galway, Ireland

County Galway is amazingly beautiful, and it would be almost a shame to spend all your time there shut up in a room (no matter how great the spa is). Therefore, this spa offers you a compromise: all the usual spa treatments, and some exciting outdoor activities – for those who can’t sit in the same place for too long. You can go horse riding through the beautiful hills of County Galway, sea kayaking or surfing in the Atlantic.

Toskana Therme in Bad Sulza, Germany

Toskana offers a bit more than the usual fare of spa treatments. The seven pools, the hot stone therapy, mud wraps and body scrubs rooms are all located under a gigantic glass dome – which looks rather nice – and in addition to these treatments, you can try out the ‘liquid sound’ therapy, a type of treatment where music is piped underwater and it is accompanied by coloured lights.

Reethi Rah is a bit expensive, as far as spas go, but it is the epitome of luxury. There’s an amazing yoga pavilion next to the sea, and you can have dinner in your own sandbank.

Even more than the spa treatments itself, it’s worth visiting this resort simply because the surrounding area is so wonderful. If you want sophistication and luxury, Reethi Rah is the place  for you.

Babington House, Somerset, UK

Babington House is probably the hippest, most exciting spa resort in the UK. One of the most interesting activities here are the therapies which take place in a…Mongolian yurt. As a matter of fact, it’s probably one of the few places on earth where you can get a spa treatment in a yurt. In addition to this, you can have some quality time with your family or friends on the cricket pitch, playing croquet or riding bicycles.

Riksgransen Alpine Spa, Sweden

Riksgransen is the only Alpine spa in Northern Europe, and one of the most interesting spas in the world, to boot. If in Somerset you got your treatments in a yurt, here you can enjoy a massage or a cleansing inside a Lapp tent.

Other activities include  spa soaks and deep relaxation techniques, followed by hot stone massages. You can relax and pamper yourself in the middle of the most fascinating and picturesque region in Sweden.
